Group Supervision as Community Care

Moxie Mind is now preparing for group supervision!

If you’re a clinician in the anti-diet space or have been wanting to learn more about private practice, caring for clients struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating, and learning a weight-neutral approach to care - this one’s for you! A group setting can be a powerful place of learning, unlearning, and community. It’s a space where everyone can all come curious, ready to learn and make mistakes, and support each other. There’s no pressure to get it “perfect” or to have clarity on exactly what you’re trying to say; we’re all learning together. You can expect this to be a place of gentle accountability and calling in, with the intent of unpacking our own biases.

Each session will include check-ins, thoughtful prompts, space for client case discussion, and conversation around growing our skills as trauma-informed clinicians. Each group will consist of 5 people to ensure that there is always room for you to speak and be heard (or just soak things in if that’s more your style!). Each group will meet with Karlee for 5 weeks, with the option of continuing on in another group or 1:1 supervision afterward.

While Karlee welcomes everyone, this group supervision tends to be most helpful to those who may be:

  • Growing skills as a new eating disorder clinician/dietitian

  • Learning the ropes of starting out in private practice

  • Unpacking internalized fat phobia and adopting HAES principles

  • Creating a private practice that provides weight-neutral care

  • Wanting to provide more affirming care to LGBTQ+ clients

  • Exploring trauma informed approaches to care in dietetics

  • Unlearning traditional dietetic teachings of education-based, action-oriented, strictly clinical care

  • Addressing biases and privileges in work with more marginalized folx

  • Wondering how to talk about body image work with clients

  • Managing an emotionally depleting workload as a Highly Sensitive Person
